There’s a lot of thought tucked inside a small bottle of perfume oil.
As our collection grows, I’ve been refining the way I create our scents, bringing resins, extracts, and absolutes into the blending process. I want you to know a little more about these ingredients, why we use an oil base, and the care that goes into bringing each scent together.
What are botanical aromatics?

Botanical aromatics are scent materials drawn from plants, including flowers, leaves, woods, roots, and resins. They offer a wide range of scent, from bright and fresh to warm, earthy, and richly layered.
Resins and their aromatic extracts can bring warmth and depth to a blend. Absolutes are concentrated aromatic extracts that capture rich details of a plant’s scent. Other botanical extracts contribute their own character, adding another layer to the finished perfume.
Each material brings something different. The balance between them is what gives a scent its personality.
Why we use MCT oil
Our perfume oils begin with MCT oil, a lightweight carrier with very little scent of its own. It allows the aromatics to take the lead while giving the perfume a smooth feel as you roll it onto your skin.
The carrier is part of the finished experience, but how long a scent lasts also depends on the aromatic materials in the blend, your skin, and how much you apply.
How perfume oils unfold on your skin
When you roll a perfume oil onto your skin, you’re giving the aromatic blend time to reveal its different layers. The MCT oil carries those aromatics and helps you apply them smoothly.
The lighter, more volatile notes tend to be noticeable first. As they evaporate, the heart of the scent becomes more apparent, followed by the deeper notes that linger. These layers overlap, so the change is gradual rather than a sudden switch from one to another.
Your skin’s warmth helps aromatic molecules move into the air, where you can smell them. Skin moisture, temperature, and the blend itself can influence how the perfume wears. That’s why the same perfume oil may smell slightly different on you than it does on someone else.
Give it a little time. Notice it when you first apply it, then return to it as it settles. A scent that opens bright and fresh may become warmer, softer, or richer as you wear it. That unfolding is part of the pleasure of finding your own scent.
Bringing a scent together

For me, formulating begins with a feeling. It might be the warmth of evening light, a quiet moment to yourself, or a memory I want to capture.
Then comes the work of finding the right balance. A rich note can overwhelm a delicate one. A small adjustment can bring the whole blend together. I’m thinking about the first impression, but also how the different notes work together as the scent settles on your skin.
It takes care to create a blend with its own character, where the individual ingredients contribute to a complete experience.
Our perfume oils are made in small batches, with attention to both the ingredients and the way they come together. Each one is an invitation to find a scent that feels personal to you.
